New Advantex event showcases regions’ IP talents

A new event being held in County Durham next month will showcase the region’s talent and track record in providing the latest internet-based technologies for regional, national and international customers.

IP World 2008 is the first event of its kind and is the brainchild of fast growing Houghton-le-Spring based IT infrastructure specialists Advantex Network Solutions.

The event is designed to underpin the North East’s emerging position as a market leader in designing and supplying IP (Internet Protocol) based-solutions and is being held at Ramside Hall Hotel on 1 May.

It has already generated a considerable amount of interest from regional manufacturers and resellers of IP technology – Coniston IT, Medium UK, Executel and Netgenium Systems Ltd have all thrown their weight behind the event with sponsorship deals.

And to reinforce its importance on the regional IT calendar, IP World 2008 has attracted the support of leading global IT companies like Sony, Samsung Network Solutions  and MITEL, who will be showcasing their latest advanced technologies.

The event, which includes seminars and workshops, is expected to be attended by IT, facilities managers and directors from across the region, keen to find out more about the latest technologies and solutions,

There’s already a high level of interest with several confirmed bookings.

IP systems use the latest digital networking, imaging and communications technology to improve the speed, efficiency and capabilities of company’s IT infrastructure, providing significant time and cost savings in the process.

Advantex is at the forefront of the technology’s use in the region having carried out IP installations at Gateshead College, City of Sunderland College, Oxclose School, Dyke House School, Egger UK Ltd and Boulby Deep Mine in Saltburn among others.

Stephen O’Connell, Advantex director and company co-founder, said: “Regional companies are fast developing a unique talent and track record in IP technology, so we needed an event to showcase our expertise.

“IP World 2008 provides this and been designed to help local businesses understand better what’s available as well as an insight into the emerging  technologies that are yet to come.”

Advantex Network Solutions was founded six years ago by former Royal Marine commando Stephen O’Connell and his brother Dave O’Connell.

Now employing 30 people, it will break through the £2 million sales barrier later this year – making it one of the fast growing firms in its sector in the region.

Other customers include Nissan, furniture retailer SCS, Caterpillar Articulated Trucks, NSK Steering and Simpson’s Malt. Advantex achieved the prestigious ISO9001/2000 industry quality mark within its first year of trading.
