Advantex on the move
Advantex on the move…to new premises and more success
Advantex Network Solutions Ltd one of the region’s fastest growing IT companies has moved to new premises to secure existing growth and provide a platform for further expansion next year. The company is relocating from Sunderland to 3,500 sq ft of modern premises in Rainton Bridge, near Houghton-le-Spring.
The new site is significantly larger than the existing one on Wessington Way Industrial Estate and will provide the extra office, storage and product testing space needed to provide improved service levels.
A new state-of-the-art product demonstration suite is also planned to enable customers to try out the latest generation of computer network equipment and internet compatible cameras provided by the company.
There will also be space to accommodate the company’s growing fleet of vehicles, which currently numbers eleven service vans.
Advantex will also be expanding its workforce with the appointment of additional engineers to oversee existing contracts and service new business.
The company is also considering plans to develop a network of regional offices to boost its service provision to customers located throughout the UK.
Advantex was formed at the end of 2002 by former Royal Marine commando Stephen O’Connell and his brother David and designs, installs and commissions data and voice local area networks (LANs) for commercial and industrial companies.
The firm currently employs 30 people and is on target to reach the £1.5 million turnover mark next year – hitting its five-year financial target two years earlier than expected.
Clients include the US military in Europe, furniture retailer SCS, Caterpillar Articulated Trucks, NSK Steering, Simpson’s Malt and wood-based panels manufacturer Egger (UK) Ltd.
Director Stephen O’Connell said the move was part of a broader push that would enable the firm to gear up to meet existing and future customer demand.
He said: “Our success has been achieved through sheer hard work, investing in skilled people and an on-going commitment to providing clients with a high quality, cost effective service."
“The move to new premises provides a good base to grow the business even further in 2006 and beyond and is an exciting development for us as we look to expand the services and products we offer to customers.”
Advantex achieved the prestigious ISO9001/2000 industry quality mark within its first year of trading.
