New Network Contract
Sunderland Network Specialist Advantex Wins SCS Contract
Advanced Internet camera solution improves security at UK sites
Advantex Network Solutions Ltd are pleased to announce that the company has won a major contract with leading furniture retailer SCS to supply and install a new Internet camera-based warehouse monitoring system across several sites in the UK. The contract is initially worth a six-figure sum and is expected to create several new technical support and engineering jobs at Advantex’s Wessington North Industrial Estate site.
Advantex will immediately supply and install several Internet Mobotix camera systems at SCS Doncaster and Seaham sofa warehouses.
This will be followed by further installations over the coming months at warehouses in east and west London, Edinburgh, Stoke, Coventry, Warrington and Bristol. Plans to put systems into SCS network of branches are also being considered.
The Mobotix cameras utilise the very latest Internet Protocol (IP) recorder and video management and surveillance technology to provide high quality images and site monitoring.
They will enable recorded images to be downloaded daily to a PC located at each SCS site and then sent via a secure internet link to the firm’s head office in Sunderland where they can be viewed and assessed by management.
This will significantly improve the monitoring and surveillance of unlawful warehouse entry, while leading to improvements in overall security and a significant reduction in the theft of sofas and other furniture from sites.
Advantex designs, installs and commissions computer and telephone local area networks (LANs) and was started in 2002 by brothers Stephen and David O’Connell.
It now employs nearly 20 people and has seen growth quadruple over the last year. This year the company is predicted to turnover around £1,000,000.
SCS awarded the contract to Advantex following a successful pilot project at the company’s Doncaster site last year.
Darren Seales, SCS communications specialist, said that a key benefit of the new system will be the ability to control and monitor all the sites centrally over the internet.
He added: “The Mobotix solution recommended by Advantex provides a far more flexible and better quality system when compared to the alternative CCTV."
“Also, the company has been very helpful and extremely responsive in providing an advanced, cost effective solution that will deliver major security and financial benefits to us over the coming years.”
Advantex director David O’Connell said: “This is a major contract for us with a very prestigious client and reinforces our growing reputation in the market place for quality, expertise and an ability to design and deliver projects on time and within budget.”
Other clients include Caterpillar Articulated Trucks, Nissan Motor Manufacturing (UK) Limited , APL Limited, LG Philips displays and Cleveland Potash.
