Award for Advantex
Sunderland IT specialist Advantex gains top industry award
Sunderland-based IT company Advantex Network Solutions Ltd has received a big seal of approval from the UK’s largest supplier of electronic security equipment.
The fast growing Wessington North Industrial Estate company has been awarded silver partner status as part of Rochdale-based Gardiner Security’s Networked Video Integration Partner (NVIP) programme.
NVIP recognises companies that have shown skilled proficiency in understanding networks (LAN, WAN and wireless) and have the technical resources and support staff to meet customer needs.
Advantex was started in 2003 by brothers Stephen and David O’Connell and is the only North East IT company to achieve NVIP status - there are five others in the UK.
The news is a major boost for Advantex, which specialises in designing, supplying and commissioning IP (Internet Protocol) local area networks for customers in the UK and Europe.
The technology enables users to manage and control computer, lighting, telecommunications, PA, CCTV, access and other systems over the internet using a single cable networked solution.
This reduces installation and ownership costs and improves security and operating efficiencies.
Advantex now has ambitious plans to capitalise on its award by installing and commissioning over £75,000 worth of Gardiner Security supplied IP cameras and operating software this year.
It will be able to take advantage of a range of benefits from Gardiner Security. These include access to the latest product and marketing support, training in the new digital Mpeg technologies, preferential pricing deals and sales leads.
IP networked systems have already been installed by Advantex at City of Sunderland College, providing security and door access control for computer training rooms.
Other installations are at microchip manufacturer Atmel, SCS furniture retailer's network of national stores and Cleveland Potash’s 1200m deep Boulby Mine at Saltburn – Europe’s deepest mine.
Advantex employs 20 people and has seen growth quadruple over the last year. This year the company is predicted to turnover in excess of £1,000,000.
Stephen O’Connell said: “We’re delighted with the silver partner award. It’s a big boost for a young company like ours, strengthening our credibility in a complex and competitive market.
“Gardiner Security clearly recognise our potential and has shown confidence in our ability to deliver. Also, customers will be assured that we have the skills and technical knowledge to meet and exceed their needs.”
Glen Fletcher at Gardiner Security said: “Customers are continually looking for partner companies that can bridge the gap between their demands and technology capabilities."
“We are delighted to welcome Advantex as an NVIP and recognises its expertise in providing customer satisfaction with our products and technology.”
Gardiner Security supplies intruder, fire, access control, CCTV, PA and integrated systems.
It is the largest distributor of electronic security equipment in the UK and has over 25 years experience supplying direct to specialist installers. The company has a nationwide network of 39 branches, each with extensive stock-holding capabilities.
