Although a lot of the systems we support, including IP CCTV / Network Cameras and IP Door Access Control and even wireless do not require direct power utilsing in-line 802.3af Power Over Ethernet, a lot of our works is still traditional electrical services.

As part of the NICEIC’s Approved Contractors Scheme, Advantex are able to provide highly skilled and experienced electrical project managers, senior site supervisors and JIB approved electricians.

NICEIC’s Approved Contractor Scheme is designed to maintain and publish a register of electrical contractors that have been assessed against a specific set of competency requirements, in particular the national electrical safety standard BS 7671:2008 the IEE Wiring Regulations, 17th Edition.

The 17th Edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2008) was published in January 2008, and came into effect 1 July 2008. From then on all commercial, domestic and industrial wiring installations must be designed, constructed, inspected, tested and certificated to meet the requirements of BS 7671: 2008.

Our 17th edition installation teams are highly skilled in a large variety of electrical projects throughout the UK ranging from the installation of a new socket outlet to a complete electrical installation including fire alarms, emergency lighting and lighting. All works are supervised by a dedicated project manager from initial site survey, design, installation, testing and finally completion and hand-over.

Fire alarm and Emergency lighting

To ensure compliance with BS 5266 Part 1:2005 'Code of Practice for Emergency Lighting' and BS 5839 'Fire detection and Alarm systems for buildings'. Advantex can design, install and maintain both Emergency lighting and Fire Alarm systems.

Compliance Test & Inspection

As a recognised member of the NIC EIC we are able to offer the full range of testing requirements for both residential and commercial properties as detailed below:-

  • Part P
  • Minor work
  • Initial inspection report
  • Periodic inspection
  • Portable appliance testing


NICEIC Approved Contractor Scheme for electrical contractors undertaking design, installation, commisioning and maintenance of electrical installations to BS 7671:2008.

All testing works will be carried out by directly employed fully qualified JIB Test & Inspection Engineers.
