We are seeking to appoint individuals with a proven track record in a sales environment with the right shared common values to join the Advantex Team. You should be self-motivated, tenacious and capable of managing your own workload. A communications industry background – focusing particularly on IT and/or Communications solutions – would be beneficial.
B2B field sales experience is required along with knowledge of managing and developing a customer base. Meanwhile, a successful track record in canvassing and self-generation of appointments is essential.
Excellent IT/presentation skills are required and candidates must be able to demonstrate competent numeracy, literacy and organisational skills. The sales role will cover the whole of the North East region so a full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel is also necessary.
Commissions are uncapped and career potential is exceptional for those with sufficient drive, determination and hunger for success.

Job Title: Business Development Manager (BDM)
Main Purpose of Job: The purpose of the BDM is to generate new business to meet/exceed the targeted level set by the business to creditworthy customers at authorised pricing. It is the BDM’s responsibility to ensure that individual targets are achieved and you should be capable of managing your own work load and pipeline. You may also help maintain some authorised key accounts and cross sell and bring new business from these although these will be limited.
You may also be provided prospect data from Marketing or leads from the business. This prospect data and the leads may be changed at any time (either in part or in whole) and should not be relied on.
Targets can be achieved from recurring agreements, solution sales and standalone wins.
You are authorised to sell anything on the Advantex product portfolio and services provided you have obtained the relevant training and/or qualifications or have sufficient experience in the product and service.
You have a number of additional responsibilities with regard to your role known as Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s). Your Manager will ensure that you understand the responsibilities of your role and will ensure that your performance is measured against these KPI’s.
You must have a positive attitude and a personable character accustomed to working with different clients, including staff within Advantex. Advantex promotes a positive and enjoyable place to work and you should buy into this ethos.
You must be accustomed to working with the type of clients that we currently work with and be accustomed to speaking with end-user decision makers such as IT managers, business managers (education), CEO’s and Directors for mid-size SME (£5m+ turnover).
Working Arrangements: The position offered is based out of Advantex’s Gateshead Head Office.
Contracted Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00 with 1hr for lunch (although extended hours may be required for tender/opportunity deadlines.) We have a flexible approach to business but expect the same in turn from our team.
