Services Boosted by New Starters

Advantex’s services are boosted by new starters following the demand for IT, IP telephony and network solutions in the North East.

Celia Yeates brings more than 10 years of experience to the role, and will be working on financial planning and management as the firm expands on the back of a strategy that will see continued investment in new technologies and services.

She will be working alongside new accounts assistants Gemma Barker and Ryan Masters.

The Follingsby Park-based company has also appointed Dan Baird and Nick Scott as communications engineers, who bring a combined 30 years’ experience and skills in communications and networking systems and technologies to the roles.

Also joining are new IT engineers Chris Airey and Andrew Simpson; and IT apprentice Nathan Colquhoun. Within the Operations Department, operations administrator Julie Lamb; storeman Jason Lilly; and new project managers Oli Atkins and Graeme Dalkin are new starters.

Advantex, which counts Caterpillar, Sir Robert McAlpine, Hitachi Rail, Sunderland Football Club, Middlesbrough Football Club, SCS and Gateshead College among its customers, was established in 2002.

The firm is an accredited Microsoft Gold, Cisco and Mitel partner, employing more than 60 people providing single source solutions that combine flexibility and added value technologies to deliver high performance benefits to clients.

The company is targeting a ÂŁ6m turnover by 2017 – a 20% increase over the next 12 months – as it continues to invest in its workforce, and utilise extra capacity and resources to secure additional regional and national work.

Dave O’Connell, operations director, said Advantex stands to benefit from the expertise the new starters will bring on the back of existing strong demand from customers who are investing in new IT, networks and telecoms systems to power their own growth.

He said: “The future is exciting for us and we are busier than ever before. We have an extremely robust expansion plan, strong customer base and plans to invest further in our facilities at Follingsby Park.

“Over the next year we will look to support the existing talent within the team while continuing to encourage and nurture a new generation of highly skilled and experienced people who will enable us to move to the next stage of growth and development.”
