PCE: Process Control Equipment

  • Services

Process Control Equipment (PCE) is a leading European distributor of valves, actuators, and automation packages. With operations spanning multiple European domains, the organisation relies heavily on secure, reliable email communication to connect with suppliers, customers, and internal teams.

Background

As cyber threats continue to escalate, with 84%* of UK businesses reporting security breaches, PCE recognised the need to strengthen its defences, particularly across complex, multi-domain environments. IT solutions provider Advantex stepped in to support, delivering one of the region’s first fully managed DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance) services.

The Challenge

With operations spanning multiple European locations, PCE manages a complex network of domains and integrated systems that rely heavily on email. This created an expanding risk surface, where spoofing and phishing attempts could exploit gaps between different platforms, suppliers, and communication channels.

PCE also identified an opportunity to strengthen oversight of its multi-domain email environment and bring everything under a unified security policy, an important step in ensuring trust and consistency across all communications.

At the same time, the organisation needed to protect its brand reputation across several countries, ensuring customers and partners could rely on the authenticity of every message. Aligning all legitimate sending sources to a single, authenticated standard was essential but far from straightforward. Although DMARC adoption is increasing globally, only a small fraction of domains have fully implemented it, leaving most organisations exposed. PCE wanted to get ahead of these risks and fully secure its European email environment before a threat materialised.

The Solution

Advantex deployed its managed DMARC service, guiding PCE through a detailed, multi-stage process to secure every email-sending route across all European domains. This included:

  • Full DMARC implementation, with correct SPF and DKIM alignment
  • Configuration and validation of all legitimate mail-sending systems
  • Ongoing monitoring, reporting, and domain reputation tracking
  • Continuous adjustments based on real-time insights and threat data

The Benefits

With Advantex’s managed DMARC solution in place, PCE achieved:

  • Stronger domain protection across all European operations
  • Complete elimination of unauthorised email activity
  • Improved mail flow and deliverability, reducing operational friction
  • Increased domain reputation, strengthening trust across partners and supply chains
  • Greater visibility into email performance, authentication, and suspicious activity
  • Heightened confidence across the organisation and its external networks

PCE’s proactive approach, combined with Advantex’s expertise, demonstrates how DMARC can transform email security, not just by blocking threats, but by elevating trust, transparency, and resilience.

"Advantex supported us throughout the implementation process, offering regular updates and helping ensure that all legitimate email-sending locations were covered by the policy. While this might sound straightforward, it is quite complex given the integrated systems we operate."
