Sintons is a large, full service law firm headquartered in Newcastle upon Tyne. More than 200 people are based in the firm’s city centre office, which spans four storeys.

In 2024, the building underwent a complete refurbishment, transforming it into a state-of-the-art workplace and meeting venue for Sintons’ colleagues and clients.

The challenge

As part of its major office refurbishment, Sintons created 14 brand new meetings rooms which all needed to be equipped with seamlessly integrated audio-visual equipment.

The rooms will be used for a wide range of purposes, from board meetings to training days, and need to be capable of hosting video conferencing via Teams.

The smallest meeting room seats five people and is designed as an informal break-out space, while the largest space holds up to 70 people and will be used for training, conferences, seminars and social events.

“Our ideal scenario was having something that is easy to use, reliable, doesn’t require in-depth technical knowledge and which also complements the high spec finish of the new spaces,” said David Mather, Sintons’ IT manager.

The solution

Advantex talked the Sintons team through various options and the final set-up included three different sized systems, incorporating:

  • Samsung screens in each room, ranging from 65 inches in the smaller rooms to an 98 inch screen in the largest space
  • Click Share systems in each room, enabling wireless screen sharing
  • Logitech Rally Bar systems in all meeting rooms incorporating integrated camera, microphone and speakers
  • Logitech Tap IP touch controllers to integrate Microsoft Teams and to enable the display of scheduling and availability outside each room
  • A BOSE sound system, sound mixer and presenter microphones in the largest space.

The systems are fully integrated into the interior design, with carpentry designed to accommodate the screens in each room.

The Results

The new equipment enhances Sintons’ new meeting spaces and simplifies the organisation of events. Clients and colleagues can quickly and easily share presentations, take part in video conferencing and set up for events in a range of formats.

The equipment is consistent across the whole building so, while the room and screen size might vary, the way people interact with the technology is always the same.
